Maison Hennessy toasts Lunar New Year with Yan Pei-Ming artist collaboration

Maison Hennessy is celebrating the Lunar New Year with the help of Chinese artist Yan Pei-Ming, who has created a painting entitled La Grande Course as a tribute to the entire zoo of the zodiac. This artwork will be accompanied by limited editions of Hennessy VSOP, Hennessy XO, and Hennessy Paradis Cognacs, featuring elements of the painting on it’s packaging.

Maison Hennessy is ushering in 2023 with the help of Chinese artist Yan Pei-Ming, who is honouring the Lunar New Year with a new artwork.La Grande Course, a painting by the artist, has been created to celebrate the entire zodiac in all its diversity.Renowned for his portraits of animals and famous personalities, Yan Pei-Ming honours the Year of the Rabbit with a monumental painting, measuring 6×3.5 metres, showing the animal within the extended family of the Chinese zodiac. The allegory is one of togetherness in diversity: across generations, geography and families — and despite differences — sharing culture is what connects us all.

“La Grande Course is a major piece of my oeuvre. It’s rather monumental, with animals in movement, and a colour – the colour of Cognac – that I’ve never used before,” Yan Pei-Ming says of his latest work. “I wanted to do something exceptional, something complicated, that I would be proud of.”
